2026-27 Rankings / Head-to-head
We make booster — factor that in. GoFundMe is what most parents reach for first, because it's free and everyone trusts it. Both of those things deserve an asterisk for team fundraising.
"Free" has one exception, and it's the one teams need. GoFundMe charges 0% platform fee on one-time donations (processing 2.9% + $0.30) — but 5% on recurring donations. The moment you try to build the thing that actually sustains a program — monthly supporters — GoFundMe starts charging, while offering none of the structure that makes monthly support work.
"Everyone trusts it" cuts both ways. Donors know GoFundMe; they also get a tip prompt at checkout asking them to pay GoFundMe on top of the gift, which many supporters find confusing or mistake for a required fee.
The right tool for a one-off, urgent, story-driven ask: the trailer was stolen, a family had an emergency, a single trip needs funding this month. Zero setup, universal trust, instant page. For that, we'd tell you to use it without hesitation.
